In this set-up the drilling mud is fed directly to the centrifuge by positive displacement pump. The solids separated from the re-useable drilling fluid are discharged.

| Barite Recovery / Low Gravity Solids Removal System |
| . |
Drilling Fluid from the Active System is fed to Centrifuge No 1 (Low Speed) via a positive displacement feed pump. The barite removed from the mud and is returned via gravity from the solids discharge end of the centrifuge directly back to the Active system. The mud from this centrifuge is gravity fed to a holding tank.
The mud in the holding tank is then fed to Centrifuge No 2 (high speed) via the second feed pump. The low gravity solids removed from this mud are discharged overboard. The re-usable drilling fluid from this centrifuge flows back to the active system.
