Cuttings from the Shale Shakers, Mud Cleaners and any other Solids Control Equipment are washed down the cuttings chute with a flow of wash solution. The wash solution is made up of a mixture of base oil and water, this mixture will have the same oil/water ration as the Active System mud.
The resulting slurry is flushed into an agitated mix tank. Mono type pumps then feed this slurry to Centrifuges Nos. 1 & 2 where the slurry is squeezed and the cuttings are discharged overboard and contain less than 10% oil by dry weight and the mud is returned to overflow tank No 1. This tank in turn can then overflow into the agitated tank or overflow tank No 2.
